Privacy Policy
ChurnLab is an Australian internet plan tracking tool that helps you compare ISP joining deals and manage your contract cycles. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. As technologies evolve this policy may change; updates will be reflected on this page. ChurnLab is not responsible for the privacy practices of the third-party provider websites we link to.

What information do we collect?
Registered users. When you create an account we collect and require:
- Email address — used as your login and for reminders.
- Full name (optional) — shown on your account and in reminder emails.
- An assigned role (user or admin) — controls what you can access.
- IP address — logged by our servers for security and abuse prevention.
If you sign in with Google, we receive the profile information Google shares with us (public profile and email address).
Plan tracking data. When you save or switch a plan, we store a ChurnTracker record containing:
- Current provider, plan name, service type (NBN, mobile, or 5G home)
- Monthly cost, contract start and end dates
- Location (Australian city/region you select)
- Notes and your chosen reminder offset (1 month, 1 week, or 1 day before contract end)
Deal data. ISP joining deals shown on the board are fetched from the public web and stored so the board loads quickly. This is not personal data about you.
Guests (non-registered visitors). You can browse deals and pick a plan without logging in. Guest selections are kept only in your browser memory and are not saved to our servers. Nothing is remembered until you sign in.
Who sees the collected information?
Viewable only by you:
- Your plan tracking records, history, notes, and reminder settings.
- Your email address and account details.
Each user's plan data is isolated using row-level security, so you can only read and edit your own records.
Visible to admins: Admins can access records to support and maintain the app, including your email address, plan records, and IP logs. Admins cannot see other users' private plan notes unless needed for support.
Never public: Your plan details, email, and notes are never displayed publicly or shared with other users.
How is the collected information used?
- Email address — to confirm your account, send you a churn reminder email near your contract end date, and for account recovery.
- Plan tracking data — to show your current plan, calculate how long until you can switch, build your plan history, and trigger reminders.
- Location — to filter deals relevant to your area.
- IP address — to prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorised access, and for security auditing.
- Anonymous usage events — we may record aggregated, non-identifying events (e.g. "deal refreshed") to improve the product. These do not contain personal information.
How do we collect information?
- Information you enter (email, name, plan details, notes).
- Information from Google when you use Google sign-in.
- Server-logged information (IP address, request timestamps).
- Cookies and local browser storage for authentication and preferences.
Third-party cookies & advertising
ChurnLab displays advertisements via Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to ChurnLab and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
Deal links take you to third-party ISP websites. ChurnLab is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of those sites; please review their policies before submitting any personal information.
Use & protection of information
We use your information lawfully and only as described in this policy. Your personal information is never sold or passed to third parties. Data is stored securely on our platform's servers with access controls and row-level security, and is protected against loss, misuse, and unauthorised alteration.
View or correct your information
You can view your current plan and full plan history by logging in to ChurnLab. You can edit your plan details, change your reminder settings, or update your location at any time. To change your email address or name, use the account options available in the app.
How do I remove my data?
You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard header ("Delete account"). This permanently removes your ChurnLab plan records, history, and account. This action cannot be undone.
You can also clear individual plan entries by switching plans or removing notes. If you no longer have access to your account, contact Base44 support to request removal of your personal information.
Handling a privacy complaint
